Forward Fold Class

Do I REALLY want to do a Forward Fold Class? I don't think so. It's not that I could not learn how to do a better forward fold - get my form more correct, learn how to better protect my back, and get a good stretch on those damn hamstrings. It is that the class is being taught by a rookie - a new pre-certified instructor. Yes, I know that the class will be monitored by the teacher, but I have already had too many classes that concentrated on forward folds to the point that when I reclined on my back for Shavasana I immediately knew that I needed some pelvic tilts to straighten out my lower back to offset all of those folds. I am NOT a Yoga instructor, but I have been taught by some very good teachers who had years of training and experience with some of the most respected teachers. And those teachers ALWAYS balanced forward fold poses with back bend poses. AND I have been quasi-injured by taking classes from less qualified teachers who fail to balance the poses to each other. Is that really true? Look it up (or wait until I post about it..." ;-) This is only one of my Yoga bitches but it best illustrates why Imma Yoga Bitch. I suffer from starting Yoga classes from some highly trained Iyengar Yoga instructors. Every pose had seemingly unending subtleties and each subtlety had a specific reason based on anatomical science. Every pose also had a concentrated focus, a breathing pattern, and was held long enough to become aware of my body's response and to adjust to that response. Now I am a spoiled brat! The Yoga that is available to me where I...
